Your Mind Is Always Listening
Most people spend more time protecting their wallets than protecting their minds.
Yet the mind influences every decision we make.
Think about two people facing the same challenge.
One says:"This is impossible."
The other says:"This will be difficult, but I'll figure it out."
The situation is identical.
The outcome often isn't.

The conversations we have with ourselves become the foundation for our actions. If we constantly tell ourselves we're unlucky, incapable, or destined to fail, our actions begin reflecting those beliefs.
But when we start believing improvement is possible, our behavior changes.
We take chances.
We learn new skills.
We recover from setbacks faster.
This doesn't mean pretending life is perfect. Cape Verdeans know better than that. Our history is filled with challenges, sacrifice, and perseverance.

What it does mean is choosing which thoughts deserve our attention.
Every day our minds are collecting information from social media, television, conversations, and the people around us.
The question is simple:
What are you feeding your mind?
Because just like the body becomes what it consumes, the mind becomes what it repeatedly hears.
The quality of your thoughts often determines the quality of your future.
In the next article, we'll discuss why the people around us can either accelerate our growth or quietly hold us back.
